Who this?

I'm a UI/UX designer based in India. I'm not on X or Instagram. And the best way to reach me is via email.

I'm Nishant

I'm Nishant

In order of importance, I'm a dog dad to 5 adopted, rescued dogs, an all-over-the-place, immature husband, a wannabe short filmmaker, and a casual gamer.

Let's catch up with a Q&A

Is this really necessary?

Yes! Maybe. How about we go along with this for just a bit to find out.

How did you get into design?

I actually started my career with content and marketing. My employers at the time just spread me out - from blogs, to case studies and eBooks, to social media, and even email marketing. Collaborating with designers became a big part of my job, and somewhere along the way, I decided to do both. I do credit a lot of my colleagues in design from way back when for where I am today. I think of them as inadvertent mentors.

What about music?

It's fleeting. I'm currently in between AJR and George Ezra. But my wife certainly helped me develop a taste for Bollywood music. Not dance music. But well-written, meaningful songs across genres.

What's your favourite TV show?

Oh, that's a tough one! In no particular order, The Boys, Last Kingdom, Brooklyn 99, Seinfeld, The Office, Mad Men, Modern Family, and the one that touched my heart the most - Schitt's Creek! You know what, I almost want to say Schitt's Creek is my favourite TV show.

Light or dark mode?

I didn't know I had a preference until I made my portfolio. I hope that answers your question.

Your favourite part about what you do

Newness. Every project comes with its own set of challenges. When I'm on a development only project, I look forward to the challenges involved in bringing a designer's vision to life. And when it involves design, it's about finding the story that carries the design.

How about hobbies outside of design?

I have a hard time separating hobbies from passion. But if I had to do that - I might, might push towards fitness. At the moment, I'm very passionate about 3D as a hobby. My expectations are that it graduates from being a hobby into being a passion. Does that make sense? Gaming. Of course. Gaming alone. And sometimes co-op. I don't need the added stress. Ugh.

Gaming. Tell me more about that.

In 2022, I ran through the classics - Assassin's Creed II, Brotherhood and Revelations. And then I decided to run through Dragon Age Origins, Dragon Age II and Inquisition. But then my Windows System died when I was bouncing back and forth between Assassin's Creed Syndicate and Kingdom's of Amalur. I didn't quite have the time to get a new system. But I noticed that Divinity Original Sin 2 is playable on MacOS, and that's what I'm on right now. And let me tell you, it's a masterpiece!

Marvel or DC?

I get asked this a lot. I lean towards DC when it comes to comic books, even though I haven't touched some of the new ones. Marvel before Phase 4. I'm not watching any of the new movies.

Do you have pets?

I have dogs, five of them, three of them, adopted from a shelter, and two of them rescued. You can keep scrolling to see them. It took a lot of restraint for me to not write ten thousand pages about them here.

My True North!

I didn't know what having a heart meant before having them.
